Dez Bryant Threatens to Sit Out 2015 Season if Dallas Cowboys Don’t Offer New Contract

Are the Cowboys really calling Dez’ bluff?

Since losing on a controversial play in the post-season to the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys off-season has been a nightmare. With losing DeMarco Murray in free agency to division rival Philadelphia Eagles and knowing their defensive-end Greg Hardy will be suspended for four games, Dallas may be without their best player on the entire team. Following his franchise tag, the 26-year-old wide-out has been publicly saying he wants long-term security to remain with the team and has even said he want to be a Cowboy for life.

Although he’s an unrestricted free agent next winter, Dez is set to make a base salary of only $12 million this upcoming season and feels his services are way beyond the cap hit he’s walking home with this year. Since his production has been super-elite with the most touchdowns received, a top 10 in both total yards and yards-per-catch – Bryant and his management believes a deal should’ve happened before the unfortunate franchise tag.

With the recent tag, there’s a 4:00pm ET deadline this Wednesday for the Cowboys to offer him a long-term deal and Dez has threatened to not report to training camp and even miss games until there’s a resolution.
