Only a day removed Father’s Day, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was still spending quality time with his son, Justin Combs, who is currently a player for UCLA Football. Diddy currently spends most of time in Los Angeles and took a brief break from his career to visit his son’s off-season team practice for the day.

Unfortunately, Justin received some overwhelming criticism from strength-and-conditioning coach Sal Alosi, which prompted Mr. Combs to confront him on yelling at his son. Sean reportedly picked up at kettle bell and attempted to attack the coach with it, but luckily missed the swing. Local campus police were called to the situation and immediately arrested Diddy for attacking the team coach with the weight – which is considered a felony assault with a deadly weapon. Those on hand to witness the incident said if Combs would’ve connected, the coach would have died on the scene – which is something the Harlem native is lucky didn’t happen.

“Shortly after 12:30 p.m. today, Sean Combs [also known as P. Diddy] was arrested at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, which was a kettlebell.” Campus police said in a statement later on Monday afternoon.

Team Head Coach, Jim Mora issued a statement saying,

“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation.” Mora said. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”

Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, who’s a red-shirt junior defensive back is currently waiting for his father to be released from local UCLA authorities (as of 4:00pm PT). We’ll keep you updated if anything substantial happens in the next few hours regarding the story. For now, take a look 50 Cent offering support for Puffy below.

UPDATE: Representatives for Diddy issued this statement today, concerning the incident:
“The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate. What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son. We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed.”
