The losses keep coming for Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks. Tonight, Melo was on his A-game per usual, dropping over 40 points. The only problem? Dirk Nowitzki hit a game-winning shot over Melo to down the Knicks. This is just another disappointment this year for Carmelo and the Knicks, in a season that has been filled with them. For example, Melo has averaged 41.3 ppg over the last four games, but still the Knicks are 1-3 in that stretch. They are drastically slipping in the Eastern conference playoff race and are in serious danger of losing Carmelo this summer.
For Dirk and the Mavs this one is just another solid victory during a very surprising season in which they are in a good position to make the playoffs. Much to the dismay of the Knicks, the Mavs won it tonight behind strong games from Vince Carter and Monta Ellis. In the end, it was the future hall-of-famer Dirk who finished it for Dallas and got his team out of Madison Square Garden with the victory.
