In one of the quickest opening games of the World Cup so far, Argentina managed to seal a 3-2 against Nigeria, although the African representatives wouldn’t let them put the game easily to rest. Just minutes into the beginning of the match, Messi opened the scoring by hitting the ball through a crowded penalty area into the net, which was the rebound of a shot against the post from Di Maria.

Despite that, seconds later saw Musa make the score 1-1 by curling the ball past Romero. It’s fair to say Argentina weren’t expecting such a quick response.

The excitement didn’t stop there.

Much like we’ve seen throughout the World Cup, the player to put Argentina ahead before half-time was Messi, who scored an incredible free-kick from far out.

It felt like deja vu after the second half got underway, as Musu grabbed the equalizer yet again by sprinting through the Argentina defensive and placing it past the keeper.

Minutes after, Rojo put the ball into the net via a goal from his knee, which arrived after the ball had been whipped in from a corner. The rest of the half saw no more goals, with the final scoreline ending 3-2.

However, both Argentina and Nigeria will be heading to the last 16 from group F.
