The OVO empire continues to grow today, as the Toronto Raptors have announced that they have made Drake their Global Ambassador for the team. It looks like this move goes hand in hand with Toronto being announced as the host city for the NBA All Star Weekend in 2016 just a few days ago. Besides the title, Drake’s other duties with the team will include: A clothing brand with the team (in a full-on effort to make the squad popular again). In fact, everything is up for grabs to Drizzy with the team, other than the actual name. Sorry, you won’t be seeing the Toronto Owls in the NBA anytime soon.
The thing that will make this all a success is if the team can put on good product on the court and draw people to them. With a good core of players, this is something that is very possible in the coming years. Don’t think that the addition of Drake to the formula won’t attract big time stars either. Toronto could become the next hot spot for the NBA.
