Dennis Smith Jr. was predicted as a strong contender for this year’s NBA Rookie of the Year. There’s no denying his athletic ability. The boy can soar.
Not when he goes up against Draymond Green, though.
During last night’s Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks game, the rookie got a lesson in what it’s like to go up against an NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
The Warriors were up 11 in the third quarter, so there was no significance to Smith Jr. scoring on this play, but the reaction from Draymond was hilarious. He stared the rook down and told him he would never dunk on him. EVER.
Dennis couldn’t do much but smile and have fun with the rejection.
Green didn’t have a monster game, but he had 10 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Smith Jr. finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds. They canceled each other out overall.
