How are those brackets doing? In the first game of the second day of March Madness, we already have the biggest upset of the day and the tournament. In shocking fashion, the 14-seeded Mercer Bears shocked the nation by knocking off the perennial powerhouse Duke Blue Devils. Mercer was the better team the entire day and hung around with Duke all the way, before they were able to capture the lead for good in the final two minutes. This is just another embarrassing tournament showing for Duke, which has become sort of a tradition lately.
This also might mean the end of the Jabari Parker reign for Duke, as you would think this kind of loss would make him more likely to head to the NBA. As far as the brackets go, this throws a wrench into just about everyone’s, as Duke as a heavy favorite to make a deep run in the tournament. The real question now is if Mercer can put on the slipper and continue their Cinderella run in the tournament.
