Tension was high leading up to the game between England and Wales in the second week of Euro 2016. Wales managed to win their first game against Slovakia, while England only earned a point from their draw with Russia. But more importantly, it was about the battle between neighboring countries and whether the likes of Bale and Ramsey had what it takes to handle England.
England piled on the pressure during the first half, with one of the biggest moments coming from a handball by Ben Davies in his own penalty area. Nothing given from the referee. Wales managed to find a breakthrough in the 41st minute, when Bale fired a free-kick from far out into the bottom corner. Some say Joe Hart should have done better. 1-0 at the break.

Going 1-0 down at half-time meant only one thing England: make some damn substitutions as soon as possible. Hodgson made the decision to bring on Vardy and Sturridge for Kane and Sterling. Soon after, the changed paid off. With only his third touch of the game, Vardy managed to find the net during the 56th minute with a goal from close range.

The game looked like it was going to end 1-1 up until stoppage time, when Sturridge stunned everyone with a goal in the 91st minute. Sturridge played the ball into the box and carried on his run to find the ball at his feet. A couple of quick touches and a shot later, England sealed a 2-1 win.
