Floyd Mayweather Jr. made his way to ESPN yesterday, taking time from his busy training preparations for the Saturday showdown against Robert Guerrero. For the big fight, he’ll be defending his WBC Welterweight title and changeling Guerrero for the vacant Ring Welterweight title.

In this clip above, Floyd sits down with Stephen A. Smith to discuss his recent 87-day jail term which he felt he missed out on key family moments he can’t restore and had only 1 hour a day outside of the cell.

Stephen went on to bring up does Floyd think he’s the best fighter currently. Floyd said he feels he’s the greatest fighter of all time citing statistically with beating every record; including Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali, which he respects them all dearly, but can’t play second to a fighter in a sport he’s dedicated his life to.

In closing, Stephen A gets insight on why the Manny Pacquiáo never happened. Mayweather said he called Manny before his fight against Juan Manuel Márquez in 2009 and offered him $40M (and $20 wired in 48 hours). Pacquiáo said he wanted 50/50 percent revenues where Floyd felt Manny came from nowhere at a 105 weight-class to jump and defeat the biggest fighters in little time span. After the decline, Mayweather asked for blood testing to be done before, day of and after the fight which the two never came to terms giving boxing’s biggest possible event.
