ESPN Films aired one of their more recent installments in the 30 for 30 series with “This is What They Want.” Directors Brian Koppelman and David Levien (both writers of Ocean’s Thirteen and Rounders) chronicle then 39-year-old Jimmy Connors remarkable run at the 1991 U.S. Open being a previous wildcard entrant. Not only are we shown an examination of the tournament where he made it all the way to the semi-finals in shocking fashion, but also how Conors changed the game the entire sport of tennis re-inventing it in the first decade of the Open era. After the jump, you can watch the 50-minute presentation of Connor’s contributions to help make tennis a high-octane spectator sport.
