Fantasy Football News & Notes (Week 11 Recap)

ninerssaints

Another week of Fantasy Football action is in the books and like usual, the week was hectic on the NFL gridiron. With the playoffs on the horizon, it is important to keep track of what players are on the rise and who you may want to avoid going into the final weeks of the season. There were no major injuries this week, but there were some that we are keeping our eyes on, which may affect your lineup in the coming weeks.

The moves you make this and next week could make or break how far you make it in the playoffs so make sure you take extra notice of who is out there. Not to mention, in most standard ESPN leagues, the trade deadline is this week.

OS REWIND: Start ‘Em Or Sit ‘Em: Week 11 Fantasy Football Notes

Players To Add

  1. Garrett Graham – Graham continues to flourish in the Texans offense and is a great pickup if you have issues at TE heading into the playoffs.
  2. Jericho Cotchery – Cotchery has emerged as one of Big Ben’s favorite targets in Pittsburgh and has been a touchdown machine of late. If you aren’t confident on your WR corps then taking a chance on Cotchery is a good idea.
  3. Rod Streater – Oakland has been an up and down team all season, but one of the highlights has been Streater. He has been on fire lately and is a solid WR to look at.
  4. Chris Ogbonnaya – It appears the Browns are finally trying to get Oby fully involved in the offense and he could be a solid PPR pickup.
  5. Carson Palmer – QB play down the stretch of the Fantasy Football season has a lot to do with matchups and Carson Palmer has been feasting lately.

Key Week 11 Injuries

  1. Wes Welker – Though Welker should be ready to play against his former squad the Patriots on Sunday, he did suffer a concussion late this past week. It is something to watch but don’t expect Welker to miss this next game.
  2. Jordan Reed – Reed is another player who suffered a concussion this week. They don’t play until Monday night so chances are Reed will be available this week, but this is another situation to keep an eye on.
  3. Darren Sproles – Sproles hurt his knee and ankle this past weekend but was somehow able to stay in the game. He was missing in practice today and is a risky play until more information on his status is known.

Players To Watch Moving Forward

  1. Bobby Rainey & Brian Leonard – The Tampa Bay RB situation could be very beneficial for a team moving down the stretch. Rainey went off last week but look for a balanced attack moving forward.
  2. Santonio Holmes – Remember him? Santonio is back on the field for the Jets and could end up being a key player for a Fantasy squad in the playoffs. Keep an eye on him and his production moving forward.
