Another week of Fantasy Football has wrapped up, and for a lot of owners might still be cringing from that injury that Aaron Rodgers suffered during the first drive of last night’s game. This is the type of injury where you really see how much is depended on the QB in the NFL. For fantasy purposes it effects all of the Packers offense and makes you consider sending some of the guys to the bench while Rodgers is out.
However, there were some very good performances this week on the fantasy football side. Some even that really opened up our eyes and made us think about adding some players to our rosters. We are looking at the likes of Nick Foles and Riley Cooper after they both broke out this week, considering some guys continue to struggle.
OS REWIND: Start ‘Em Or Sit ‘Em: Week 9 Fantasy Football Notes
Players To Add
- Nick Foles – Foles is now the man in Philly and showed out last week tying an NFL record for TD’s in a game. He is surprisingly available in most leagues so for those of you who need an Aaron Rodgers replacement put in that waiver wire request for Foles ASAP.
- Riley Cooper – Let’s keep it in Philly one more time and talk about Riley Cooper. He seems to be the favorite target of Foles, especially on the deep ball. Look for much more production and looks moving forward for Cooper.
- Jericho Cotchery – Cotchery has suddenly emerged as a very viable option for Big Ben out in Pittsburgh and should continue to get more looks as the season progresses. If you are in need at the WR spot he is worth an add.
- Rashad Jennings – With Darren McFadden getting hurt last week Jennings stepped up and had a big game. He may have played so well that even if McFadden comes back this week he might still get some good carries.
- Case Keenum – Another QB to look at this week would be Texan’s gun slinger Keenum. He proved on Sunday night that he has a rocket arm and will put up some points. It also looked like he rejuvenated that guy named Andre Johnson.
Key Week 9 Injuries
- Aaron Rodgers – None more major this week than Rodgers who confirmed today that he has suffered a fractured collarbone with a questionable timetable for his return. Initially it was thought that he would be back in 3 weeks, but the severity of the injury is clouding that.
- Darren McFadden – The often injured McFadden suffered yet another setback this week by re-injuring his hamstring. He will be someone to watch closely this week of practice but it doesn’t look like he will be able to suit up come Sunday.
- Arian Foster – Foster returned to the lineup on Sunday night for only one play and ended up getting a new injury somehow. This is starting to become a scary trend heading into the critical time of the season.
Players To Watch Moving Forward
- Percy Harvin – It is looking likely that Harvin might miss just 1 more game before he makes his debut for the Seahawks. For the owners that have been patient you can only hope that it pays off in the playoffs.
- Michael Crabtree – Crabtree was officially cleared to start practicing today, though that doesn’t mean he will be suiting up for the Niners this week. It will be a process for him to get back but look for it to happen sometime this month hopefully.
- Roddy White – This is great news for not only owners of Roddy, but Matt Ryan owners as well as it looks like he will get his explosive receiver back this week.
