the Believeland luck is carrying over from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Cleveland Indians, as the baseball team has made it to the ALCS. They eliminated the Boston Red Sox in tonight’s 4-3 win, which happened to be the last time David Ortiz would play at Fenway Park.
After the Red Sox loss, fans could be heard from the stands asking for Big Papi to come back on to the field so they could see him one last time. They kept chanting his name until he came back out to a standing ovation, saluting everyone in attendance with tears in his eyes.
Considering the season he had, you could argue he could go another year or two, but this is it for him. Even if you’re not a Boston fan, you can feel for Papi.
Ortiz hit 38 homeruns this year and led the MLB in doubles, extra-base hits, slugging and OPS. Plus he tied for the most RBI’s in the league as well.
Clap for him one time.
