Money Mayweather returns to PPV this September 13th for Mayweather-Maidana II

Undisputed pound-for-bound champion, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. had one of his toughest bouts in recent memory in the early stages his Welterweight fight against Marcos Maidana. It was announced earlier, Money Mayweather will defending the WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring Welterweight titles in his first rematch in over 7 years against Maidana.

Sadly, the fight we’ve all been waiting for with Manny Pacquiao is still not in the works following his defeat last April over Timothy Bradley to end his undefeated streak. During Floyd’s first out with his upcoming opponent, Marcos came out aggressive in the early rounds taking an early lead, but Mayweather would prevail in a majority decision.

Maidana now has the chance of redeeming himself after having an initial bout against Floyd that went 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114 during their first game. We still would like to see Floyd in the ring against fellow undefeated fighter Keith Thurman, but some may feel the rising fighter needs to fight more established opponents before hitting the big stage.

Mayhem, marks the fourth fight in his six-fight deal with CBS/Showtime Networks, and mark his 10th consecutive fight at MGM. Management for the Barclays Center have been pressing for Mayweather fight, but will have to wait one more time to see if they can land the big match.
