To fight or not to fight.. that is the question
After the most boring biggest hyped fight of all time, the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 rumors already started swirling around. Mostly because it turns out Manny was not 100% when he fought Floyd, to the point he had to have shoulder surgery because of torn rotator cuff.
Only days after the richest and most anticipated fights in history, Mayweather sent a text to Stephen A. Smith saying he would consider a rematch, but now one day later, he has changed his mind and told Showtime (in an interview that will air on Saturday night) that he is not up for it anymore. And he’s blaming Manny again.
“Did I text Stephen A. Smith and say I will fight him again? Yeah, but I change my mind. At this particular time, no, because he’s a sore loser and he’s a coward. If you lost, accept the loss and say, ‘Mayweather, you were the better fighter.'”
Basically, The Money Team is pretty irked that Team Pacman has been blaming their loss on the shoulder and not giving Mayweather any credit for his performance.
Regardless of whether the two fight again or not, Pacquiao will not be back in action for at least nine months to a full year to give his shoulder time to heal, and Mayweather was planning his final bout before retirement in September. If he secures another win, he will end his career tied with Rocky Marciano at 49-0.
Unless he comes back for that rematch and tries to go 50-0 with another huge payday.
