Saturday night, former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith was shot and killed, after an apparent road rage incident. The previous Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion of the 2006 Saints team, was in town for the 2016 French Quarter Festival and posted various photos on his gram page with wife, Racquel. According to reports, Smith’s Mercedes-Benz SUV was rear-ended by a Hummer H2 – causing him to rear-end another car that was driven by one of his friends.
The driver of the H2, who’s been identified as 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, apparently got into an argument with Will, which resulted in him shooting up the Mercedes multiple times. Smith died on the scene after 6-to-8 shots rang out, while his wife managed to survive, after being hit twice in the leg. The has been arrested and is now being charged with 2nd degree murder.
