Would you want your franchise to take a gamble on Bennett?
Two years ago, Anthony Bennett was the no. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Before LeBron James decided to return home, Bennett was looked at as a cornerstone for the franchise with Kyre Irving, but weight issues and inconsistent healthy hindered his rookie season.
He was packaged, along with Andrew Wiggins the following year to land Kevin Love, in one of the biggest off-season trades ever. The Minnesota Timberwolves, looked to initially have a replacement for love in the former standout from UNLV, but things quickly went sour through limited play on the court. Now, the franchise is apparently looking to move forward in another direction, as both sides are nearing an official buyout before the season – according to Yahoo Sports.
At the moment, the Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers appear to be the front-runners.
