August isn’t complete with a the annual circus held across the Hudson River we all know and love as the New York Jets of Joisey. This year has once again been focused on the QB competition battle, this time between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith. Last year, Tim Tebow was the backup which he was essentially the team mascot for sales, but he never had a shot at starting under Rex Ryan.
Rex’s golden boy has always been Sanchez, which a lackluster practice yesterday afternoon where Geno threw three interceptions only solidified his stance. In comparison to previous years, Smith actually poses a legit threat to Sanchez; and while cooler heads are stable at the moment, the big elephant in the room is how long Mark will be the starter of the team pending his usual embarrassing performances.
