We’re witnessing a historic run
Only one team was standing in the way of the Golden State Warriors and NBA history tonight: the Los Angeles Lakers. Which sounds like a mountain to climb, except for the fact that the Lake Show is anything but competitive this year. They’re chilling at the bottom of the standings and the Warriors were only one win away from becoming the first to ever start their season 16-0, surpassing teams like the 1994 Houston Rockets as one of the all-time greats. You know Oracle Arena was extra lit tonight for this one.
Although some thought the Lakers would put up a fight, the opposite actually happened and Golden State was up early and big. They led by 20 points for much of the game and the team was passing in sensational fashion, feeding the open man every time and running plays to perfection. Golden State had 25 assists combined by the time the 4th quarter started.
The Lakers got a good taste at how this team is, considering they lost by 34 points.

Steph Curry led all scorers with a light 24 points and 9 assists, with Draymond Green second in points with 18 on the night. But the entire team contributed, as 12 out of 13 players from the Warriors squad scored points.
On the other side of the ball, Kobe Bryant only had 4 points and Julius Randle led the starters in scoring with 10 points while bringing down 6 rebounds.
After winning the championship last season, many counted the Warriors out this year, including NBA owners and analysts who said they couldn’t do it again and that their run was a fluke. Not only has that fueled the squad this year, but they have answered with authority to all the doubters. Where this historic leads has yet to be determined but as of now, Golden State can’t be stopped.
And one fact remains, Luke Walton remains undefeated as an NBA coach.
