HISTORY WAS MADE
In a completely electric night in basketball, aside from the unforgettable night from Kobe Bryant, the Golden State Warriors made NBA history by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies and becoming the first team ever to win 73 games in a season. The record was previously held by the legendary 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team, that will go down as one of the best to ever play the game. For decades, nobody thought the record would be broken, but on April 13, 2016 it happened.
The effort was led by the unstoppable Steph Curry, who was not only absolute fire from beyond the arch (once again), but out on the court setting records of his own.
Tonight, the Splash Brother surpassed 400 three-pointers in a season and he kept going. He got 401. Then he got 402. In comparison, last year, he set the record with 286 three’s in a season. One year later, he beat his own record and completely shattered it.
Curry ended the game with 46 points and 6 assists, putting the finishing touches on a remarkable season for not only himself, but the Warriors as a whole.
Golden State will now look towards their championship run and try to go back to back by kicking off the playoffs by playing the Houston Rockets.
