UPDATE: Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion in the second half of last night’s game, but there is no word if he will miss time. Lacy still needs to go through the NFL protocol for such injuries. The Packers also lost starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who re-injured the same knee which kept him out all of the 2013 season.

Moments after Ariana Grande opened up the NFL season with her rendition of the country’s national anthem, the Seattle Seahawks would soon see their NFC championship and Super Bowl banners raised to the rafters for a brief look at their accomplishments last season. Kick-off would soon begin, seeing the Green Bay Packers pushed back deep to begin their season. Aaron Rodgers, still showing a little rust, would have Eddie Lacy lead things pounding the ball in for a few of the first plays of the game.

Highlights from Thursday Night’s action.“

After the team was unsuccessful in converting on a 3rd down, they would soon see Russell Wilson joined by Percy Harvin and the Seahawks offense to start things off – but luckily, it was quick 3-and-out. Defensive-end Mike Daniels would sadly run into the kicker on the next ensuing play and Seattle would soon have the ball back in very good field position. The Seahawks were only limited to a field-goal on a 35-yard chip shot from Steven Hauschka.

Richard Sherman to Aaron Rodgers after the game: “You avoided me. . . didn’t you?

The Packers soon were forced to put for the second consecutive time, but came across a little luck of their own. After punting, Seattle free safety Earl Thomas refused to call a fair catch and was victim to a fumble that led to Green Bay gaining great possession again. Rodgers would not cave in to the 12th man or the Seattle defense this time, leading his team down the field for a statement touchdown; completed by a 2-yard run from fullback John Kun. In Seattle’s next ensuing position, their offense would finally come alive, after Wilson led the team in back to back 30-yard plays. Following a short pass to Percy Harvin for 34 yards, the Seahawks soon ran a college-like read-option play, as Wilson connected with wide-out Ricardo Lockett for an easy touchdown.

Visibly showing some frustration on the sidelines, the Packers offense was soon back on the field and saw some luck with a few first downs that led to a Mason Crosby field goal. Before the first half ended, Marshawn Lynch would score the first of his two touchdowns, to pilot BEAST MODE for their 2014 campaign. The second half would essentially see another Lynch score to start the 3rd quarter and the game was essentially over after that point.
