Greg Monroe Signs Max Deal with Milwaukee Bucks

Detroit Pistons v Atlanta Hawks

Knicks are snubbed

After such a flurry of signings yesterday, the top of the line guys are now off the board and most stayed with their respective teams. So now, teams, who were looking to make a splash in free agency are scrambling to try to pick up the pieces that leftover.

Most thought Greg Monroe would be a lock to sign with the New York Knicks, but it seems like they didn’t offer him a max contract, giving the Milwaukee Bucks the chance to swoop him up from under everybody. The deal is worth a reported $50 million over three years, with a player option on the final year of the contract.

Monroe was not considered one of the elite targets in free agency, but he was touted as an offensive spark and rebounding presence in the paint. He now joins a young nucleus in Milwaukee, which boasts a roster of Jabari Parker, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Michael Carter-Williams, who surprisingly made the playoffs last year under first-year coach Jason Kidd.
