Pop really doesn’t like the Cavs, huh?
Following their 30-point blowout loss last night to the Golden State Warriors, Gregg Popovich addressed media on-the-go before leaving Oracle Arena. After sarcastically saying he almost had a chance against Stephen Curry and the Warriors, he soon went to send a subtle shot at the Cleveland Cavaliers for firing former head coach David Blatt last week. Gregg hilariously went to say “I’m just glad my general manager wasn’t in the locker room, because it would’ve got me fired.”
This message to the Cavaliers David Griffin, was him saying that no player should be bigger than a coach, as Pop has had one of the biggest tenures ever in coaching winning five NBA Championships with Tim Duncan – while managing egos and superstars for nearly 20 seasons.
To make things more interesting, San Antonio travels to Cleveland this Saturday for an ABC primetime match-up against the person who he was referencing, LeBron James. So, we’re sure they will have Timmmy back in the line-up after his sore knee injury acquired over the weekend in bed.
To start though, Popovich was funny, you could whatever he told players, wasn't good #Spurs pic.twitter.com/dksQnGBvyF
