On the next ensuing Baltimore possession, Flacco would have two incomplete passes one to Jacoby Jones and the other to Torrey Smith but on his second try with Jones, the two would connect for a 52-yard touchdown. Jones would catch the ball in traffic, get up avoid a tackle and fake out a defender going left towards the in-zone for the TD.
Before the end of the first half, the 49ers would get their second score of the game as Kaepernick still hadn’t settled into the game as they would drive the ball to the Ravens 9-yardline in a quick 90 second drive before the half. David Akers would chip in one for 27 as the score was now 21-6 with Beyonce slated to perform during half-time.
In the 2nd half, the Ravens would start the half with Jacoby Jones rushing for a 108 yard kickoff return marking it the longest in Super Bowl history. Baltimore had all he momentum in the world with a visibly worried San Francisco 49ers team down 28-6. During the next Frisco possession, the stadium would soon have power failure which would cause an intermission that eased the nerves of the 49ers and only intensified the Ravens who were inching closer than ever to their 2nd Super Bowl.
Paly would soon begin after 34-minutes of inactivity as two possessions later, Colin Kaepernick would soon give the 49ers their first touchdown of the game as he completed a deep pass to Michael Crabtree for 31-yard as the score was now 28-13.
The Ravens would encounter an extremely quick three-and-out as San Francisco would once more capitalize this time starting in great field possession at the Baltimore 20. Frank Gore would bulldoze his way into the end zone for 6-yards to make the score a one-possession game at 28-20.
Baltimore’s offense continued their poor play as Joe Flacco would throw a pass to Ray Rice as he would soon fumble the ball with 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown recovering the ball Frisco would end the quarter with a FG from 34 once again by David Akers to make the score 28-23.
