Bears Shutout The Lions In Chicago For The First Time In 50 Years.
For the final game of week 7 foosball action, we saw the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears play in a heated NFC division North rivalry game. I didn’t expect this game to be that bland, but with the combination of the great Bears’ defense and Matthew Stafford’s bad play along with the offensive line and coaches made for a pretty weak MNF effort.
In the Bears first possession of the game, Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall would link up for teams first and only touchdown of the game in only the first 3 minutes of the game. Robbie Gould would chip in two field goals, one in the late first quarter and once more in the beginning of the 2nd half to give the Bears a 13-0 lead.
The Lions who had three costly turnovers in the Red Zone in the game would finally score on their last drive of the game with 30 seconds left on a Matthew Stafford pass to Ryan Broyles. Lions would fail on the onside kick return try as the game was over.
Chicago now moves into sole possession of the NFC North with a half-game lead over the Vikings and are now 2nd in the NFC behind the undefeated Atlanta Falcons and will face Cam Newton and the struggling Panthers this Sunday at home. Detroit now falls to 2-4 and are now tied for the 2nd worst record in the NFC with the Buccaneers and Saints. They now the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
