Paul George Sets New Career High Of 43 Points, But Not Enough For Interconference Loss To Blazers.

On the 2nd night of a back-to-back of their tour in the West Coast, the Indiana Pacers headed north to play the Portland Trailblazers. Both teams played each of the Los Angeles teams at Staples Center winning on Sunday, but Portland’s trip back home was shorter than the Pacers.

The Blazers had won 12 of their last 13 games heading into tonight’s match-up and were still undefeated against the East this year at 7-0. Indiana was undefeated against the West at 4-0 heading into tonight’s game. Both young teams are looking to dethrone last year’s conference finals champions this year, and have been looking good thus far in the season to potentially make it happen. Indiana controlled the score during the first three quarters, but in the 4th quarter Portland would see some huge bench help from Mo Williams knocking down some key shots down the stretch to give them some big breathing room.

LaMarcus Aldridge led his team with 28 points, which equaled the same point production from Roy Hibbert and David West combined. 2013 rookie of the year, Damian Lilard had 26 points remaining perfect from the line going 10-10. Paul George finished with a new career high of 43 points going 7-15 from deep and 16-30 overall. The Pacers did have some chances to inch even closer to the score, but it wasn’t enough to withstand the hungriness of the Blazers tonight. Indiana’s next 7 days doesn’t get any easier, as they’ll play games against the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat.
