Highlight Of The Night: Blazers Win 11th Straight, Knicks Lose 6th Straight

Carmelo Anthony’s 34 Points & 15 Rebounds Not Enough In 102-91 Loss To Portland.

If you’ve been only paying attention to the craziness of the NFL this fall, the NBA has had a few eye-raising storylines and injuries thus far early in the season. One of those compelling story lines has been the Portland Trail Blazers finally becoming one of the elite teams (record wise) in the NBA. After injuries to Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, the team has really been trying to find themselves highlighted with premier power forward LaMarcus Aldridge and 2nd year rising star Damian Lillard. Along with swingman Nicolas Batum adding in nearly 14 a night, free agent acquisitions Mo Williams and Robin Lopez add in much needed depth.

The New York Knicks have been a free-fall all year starting the season 3-10 (and losing their 6th straight tonight). Tyson Chandler’s set to miss another 3-4 weeks, as they’ve been heavily relying on extra production from Carmelo Anthony (averaging 26 points and 10 boards a game), but we’re not sure if he’s getting burnt out already this early. With an imminent trade looking for Iman Shumpert and talks of Carmelo leaving in the off-season for free agency to play with Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles, their season might be over before it started. Tonight’s main storyline was not only Portland being a better team, but Terry Stotts just simply outcoaching Mike Woodson. After the jump, you can watch highlights of this game.
