The Minnesota Timberwolves were back in Staples Center for their 2nd night of action in a row at LA Live this time against the Clippers. Already beating the Lakers on Sunday, Monday night had a different fate when their level of opposition would vastly increase with Chris Paul and company. The game featured lots of exciting highlights as you would expect including multiple Lob-City appearances as well as a full court made shot from Jamal Crawford before the 4th quarter.
Minnesota had some key turnovers, but they were victim of the Los Angeles Clippers home-court advantage where the referees had whistles in their pockets for most of the 2nd half. Ricky Rubio being in foul trouble the majority of the game didn’t help them either as Corey Brewer would switch-off to guard CP3 at times (see .gif on next page). The hack-a-DeAndre-Jordan was used from Rick Adelman down the stretch as he missed 6 free throws total, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit at the end.
The Timberwolves would eventually get the ball back down by 2 with seconds remaining; but even three tries in a row wasn’t enough at the end of intermission to win. Check after the jump for highlights.
