Who said football ran the sports weekend? On a day consumed by some great college action, the NBA demanded some shine. In what probably was the most exciting game of the night, Jeff Green hit a 3-pointer with .6 seconds on the clock for the Boston Celtics to knock off the Miami Heat in a crazy finish. To make it sweeter for Boston, the game winning 3 was in the face of LeBron James, in an ending that could have been avoided if only Dwayne Wade would have made the two FT’s he missed.
This is a year that everyone said the Celtics would be tanking to rebuild for the future, but they must not have gotten that memo tonight. Jeff Green ended up leading the Celtics in scoring, while LeBron was 2 rebounds away from getting a triple double.
