Carmelo Anthony’s 32 Points Not Enough, As Knicks Fall To Charlotte Bobcats For 1-3 Record
Heading into Tuesday night’s home game at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks thought they would have a guaranteed win against the Charlotte Bobcats to even their record at 2-2; but an early injury to Tyson Chandler would hinder that goal. The Knicks were fresh off their embarrassing Sunday lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves where they gave up 40 points in the 1st quarter in a 20 point deficit that would not end.
Kemba Walker and Patrick Ewing made their way back to the Penn Plaza against the Knickerbockers; which during the first quarter, Chandler would have to leave the game with an injury to his right leg. He would soon have X-rays that were inconclusive, but further test are set to undergo Wednesday morning to see when he’ll have a timetable return to the team. When Chandler limped off the court, the Knicks defense virtually became non-existent, as the Bobcats would out rebound the Knicks 51 to 33 when the final buzzer sounded. Amar’e Stoudemire would enter the game after Tyson’s injury, but would have to soon return to the bench after obtaining 5 turnovers going 1-3 from the field.
Mike Woodson’s currently not under heat at the moment due to Chandler, but he will feel the pressure later this season if the Knicks don’t do well in the postseason (winning at least 1 game before their eventual 1st round exit). Good luck, #Knickstape fans.
