Green Bay 23, Chicago 10 | Aaron Rodgers leads Packers in important win completing 22/32 passes.
Thursday night, the Chicago Bears were in Green Bay to play the Packers in a must win for the Cheeseheads. Initially, I thought the Bears would sneak past the Packers with a close victory without their star wide-out Greg Jennings (groin injury) playing, but I was highly mistaken. WR, Jordy Nelson came up big for Green Bay as he finished the game with 6 receptions and 84 yards. Chicago had a horrific first quarter with 3 back-to-back three and outs and wouldn’t score until the 2nd half.
Jay Cutler would finish the game with an eye raising 28.2 passer rating going 11/27 in passing completions as the Packers defense would force 4 interceptions. The offensive line wouldn’t make things any better as Cutler was sacked 7 times with the Bears loosing 52 total yards. Bears running back Matt Forte would have to leave the game with an ankle injury which appeared to be serous injury as he couldn’t return back to play.
Green Bay should be able use this momentum and carry on into the right direction as they travel to Seattle for a MNF game on the 24th; while Chicago has their home opener for the 2012 season against the St. Louis Rams. Things are definitely going to heat up in that NFC North as it looks to be the best division in all of football.
