The NBA game of the day was an Eastern Conference grudge match that may be a foreshadowing of the conference championship going into 2014, a duel between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. With Paul George being held with 2 points for the first half thanks to a smoldering defense from Miami, he broke out and showed why he’s worth that All-Star cash, putting up 15 points in the Pacers 90-84 win.

LeBron James ended the game scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds, while a banged up Dwayne Wade put up 17 as well, as the Heat led for most of the first half.

Roy Hibbert scored 24 points in the game and gave the Pacers the lead with 6 minutes left in the second half after completing a three-point play. They didn’t look back since. George had the crowd on their feet after hitting two key 3’s from opposite corners, giving Indiana the boost they needed to get past the defending champions at home.

The Heat have dropped three of their past five games.
