Tim Duncan, Tony Parker & Manu Ginobili Rest Up In Spurs Big Victory Over Warriors, Improve To 21-5.
San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich continues to prove why he is head and shoulders above his competition in the league. Tonight, he sat out his big 3 Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili (if he still counts) and achieved a big victory in the Bay against the Golden State Warriors. David Lee and Stephen Curry carried the load for their team each scored 30 plus points, but the story of the game was the Spurs bench. Marco Belinelli made the most of his night to shine, outscoring Golden States entire bench with 28 points.
Patty Mills scored 20 points alongside Kawhi Leonard’s 21, as they would get some help from fellow role players down the stretch. Tiago Splitter scored the game-winning bucket, which game came via tip-in on a missed layup for Boris Diaw. The Warriors had one last chance to score a game-winner, but had difficulty in-bounding the ball and caused Stephen Curry to miss a heavily guarded three pointer. Golden State’s now lost 5 of their last 8 games and are still looking up at the playoffs; currently having the 9th seed with a record of 14-13.
San Antonio’s off until their big Saturday meeting against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as we’re expecting the big 3 to be suited up for the big Western Conference match-up.
