Eric Bledsoe Scores 24 Points, 8 Rebounds & 8 Assist Leading Suns To 106-102 Win Over Warriors.
Before the NBA season started and Derrick Rose suffered another major injury, we really thought the NBA would have a better balance favoring the Eastern Conference; but we were definitely mistaken. Although the Golden State Warriors are 13-12 and now 9th place in the west, they’re still a playoff team in our eyes when April comes around next year.
The team’s been without Andre Iguodala for their last 13 games and have been playing consistent .500 basketball for the most part. Phoenix on the other hand has been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this year, highlighted by the impressive play of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic. They might not be the most talented back-court in the league, but they’ve been the most efficient playing ball together to average nearly 20 points a game each.
Highlights and more on the game after the jump.
Sunday night at the US Airways Center, Phoenix played host the Golden State, as both teams were looking to obtain a tough victory to cap off their weekend. Stephen Curry led all scores (and minutes) with30 points to carry the load as captain for his team.
The story of the game however was Eric Bledsoe not only scoring his usual 20-plus points; but also grabbing 8 rebounds and 8 assist in the process as well. He managed to out-duel Curry down the stretch and keep his team afloat late in the 4th quarter. Miles Plumlee also anchored their defense grabbing 10 boards and obtaining 3 blocks. He affected a lot of shots down the stretch, including a big missed layup from Klay Thompson for their big win.
The Suns now improve to 14-9 in the tight West Conference, tied with Denver and 1 game behind both the Clippers and Rockets. Phoenix now gets to rest up Monday and Tuesday, before their big home meeting Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
