Highlight Of The Night: Texans Remain Undefeated With Victory Over Jets

Texans Play With Jets Emotions Smokey In Easy Victory.

Monday Night Football had the undefeated Houston Texans vs. the “Mud Dogs” of Joisey. Heading into this game I thought it was going to be an easy blowout for Houston but I was definitely wrong as Rex and Mark put up a decent fight tonight, surprisingly.

On the opening drive of the game, only elapsing just shy of 4 minutes, the Texans would put the first points up of the game as Matt Schaub connected a deep pass with Owen Daniels. This would be the only Texans passing TD of the game but Arian Foster would score one rushing touchdown for 13 yards in the opening minutes of the 2nd quarter and would finish the game with 152 on 29 carries.

Prior to that, after three back-to-back three and outs, midway past the first quarter, Matt Schaub would be victim of an interception from Antonio Cromartie intended for Andre Johnson. The Jets would then capitalize on this as Mark Sanchez connected with Jeff Cumberland for a deep 27-yard pass to even the game. Texans would end the half with a with a 27-yard FG from Shayne Graham to bring the game to 10 points.

Jumping to the 2nd half, after an immediate 3 and out from the Jets, Matt Schaub would lead his team for a big 70-yard drive but had to settle for a 42-yard FG by Shayne Graham. With the kickoff set for the next Texans possession, Joe McKnight would return one for a 100-yard to put the game back to single digits at 20-14. On the next ensuing Texans possession Shayne Graham would chip in one last FG from 22-yards out to put the score at 23-14.

In the 4th, the Jets would make their last push with scoring a quick 21-yard FG from Nick Folk to put the game at one possession; but would ultimately fail on a Mark Sanchez interception from Kareem Jackson intended for Jeff Cumberland.

Texans fans, I would not be discouraged or worried about the lackadaisical effort displayed in tonight’s game, because nobody in the NFL takes the Jets serious anymore as they were looking ahead to their Sunday night showdown on NBC against the Packers.
