Highlight Of The Night: Yankees Advance To ALCS With Game 5 Win


C.C. Sabathia Pitches Complete Game Only Allowing 4 Hits The Entire Game.

For game 5 of the winner take all, looser go early holiday shopping, we were back again the boogie down brizonx once more as the Yanks faced the Birds of Bmore. Before game 5 began Yankees skipper Joe Giradi announced Alex Rodriguez would not be in the starting lineup for the first time ever in the third baseman’s career.

Through the first 3 innings, CC and Jason Hammel were flawless at the mound as no batter touched based the duration of those innings. In the top of the 4th, Nate McLouth would get the first hit of the game with a single to center but the Orioles wouldn’t take advantage of the scoring situation with three fly-outs in a row from J.J. Hardy, Adam Jones, and Chris Davis.

In the bottom of the 5th, Mark Teixeira would single to right and would proceed with a stolen base. With Raul Ibanez at bat, he would single to center with Teixeira scoring to get the Yankees first points of the game. Sabathia would follow suit in the next inning with a 1-2-3 inning. Heading to the bottom of the 6th, Yankees captain Derek Jeter would get walked with Ichiro Suzuki proceeding with a double to deep right with Jeter scoring as the game was now 2-0.

With CC pitching one more 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 7th, Curtis Granderson would homer to right to give him a little breathing room to close out the game. In the top of 8th, Sabathia would have a close scare as Matt Wieters singled followed by a walk to Manny Machado. Lew Ford would single to left brining in Wieters giving Bmore their first points of the game 1-3. Robert Andino would hit a infield single to Sabathia loading the bases.

Giradi decided to get the bullpen ready but still stuck with CC. Sabathia would follow suit striking out McLouth and forcing a ground out on Hardy with Jeter completing the play of the game from short to first to end the inning. CC would finish the game he started as Adam Jones flied out to left and Chris Davis struck out. The game would on a ground out from Matt Wieters as Sabathia threw the final out to Mark Teixeira and we were off to the ALCS.
