Highlights From Jameis Winston’s First NFL Preseason Game

The first week of the NFL preseason is underway and all eyes were on Jameis Winston on Saturday night. The number one pick in this year’s draft has been getting good reviews coming out of training camp, and all of that practice was about to come to fruition against the Minnesota Vikings for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers first game.

Like a rookie, Jameis struggled in his first few attempts. He underthrew receivers, he over threw receivers, he got picked off. But he did show some flashes of what we’ll see in the upcoming season. Most notably, he threw a beauty of a 40-yard pass to Vincent Jackson and rushed for a touchdown.

His final stat line was 9-19 for 131 yards, one interception and one rushing touchdown.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost the game 16-16.
