Yesterday when 2 Chainz was guest on Fox Sports 1 “Crowd Goes Wild,” we came across an idea of pairing America’s most dangerous sports with Hip-Hop. Rap is always known to be highly competitive, with friends off the mic becoming enemies once they step in the booth. It’s all in the nature of the sport.
We were missing those days of the culture, until Kendrick splashed some of that energy on 2013 with most talked about record, “Control,” and changed the entire landscape of rap, bringing back that much needed competition. Much like this Sunday afternoon when Peyton Manning travels to New Jersey to play his brother Eli Manning and the Giants, the two will be looking to outperform each other on the field, increasing the level of everyone’s talent in the game.
There’s nothing more thrilling in the NFL than scoring a game-winning touchdown or making a big defensive stop with the game on the line. The same can be said for elite artists having the masses enjoying a big release or a track where every fan is talking about their lyrics. Check after the jump to see our parallel between Hip-Hop and the NFL from past classics.
