Horace Grant Claims Michael Jordan Could Average 45 PPG In Today’s League

We’re not sure why, but the former NBA player Horace Grant recently made some very shocking comments about his old teammate Michael Jordan. While talking to the Chicago Tribune, Grant said that the NBA is so watered down, that MJ would be able to average 45 points a game. Yes, Horace thinks a 50 year old MJ can put up 45 ppg in 2013, against the athletic talents of today’s league (oh ok, guy). Mind you, that number is only five fewer that the amount of years his Airness has been on the earth.

This seems to be a very popular topic lately, because it seems like every couple of months, someone close to MJ says he could still do work in the league. Though nobody has made a claim as outlandish as Grant yet (considering the leading scorer in the NBA last season only averaged 28.7 ppg), there’s actual video footage of Mike cooking current NBA players like OJ Mayo, so anything might be possible. Right?

Check out Grant’s full comments after the jump.

OS REWIND: Michael Jordan Dunks At The Age Of 50

“No, you can’t compare (eras),” he said. “The rules have changed so much from our days and the Heat’s days. It was more physical back then. Today you can run around without getting touched. Today, Michael Jordan would average about 45 points.”
