Indianapolis Colts To Peyton Manning: “Peace, Bro”

It’s a sad end to an era. Sources tell ESPNS’s Chris Mortensen that long-time Indianapolis Colts quarterback Pyton Manning will be released by the team, saving the Colts the 28 million bonus owed to Peyton. The team is set to announce the news at a press conference this Wednesday with Manning in attendance.

Even though Peyton missed the entire 2011 season due to 3 neck surgeries (fusion of two vertebrae), he will not suit up in an Indy uniform again. Doctors have cleared him to play next season and he will continue his career as a free agent, with a handful of teams interested in the future Hall-Of-Famer.

The Colts have the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and are looking to rebuild around Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III.
