Listen to J.J. Reddick’s interview with Bleacher Report
Last season, the Los Angeles Clippers finally climbed over the hump of defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs. While the team would eventually blow their 3-1 series lead the following round against the Houston Rockets, Lob City immediately became at the forefront of free agency discussions with their big three possibly breaking up. Over the weekend, DeAndre Jordan shocked the basketball, announcing his signing with the Dallas Mavericks on a 4-year, $80 million maximum contract.
Yesterday, J.J. Reddick was guest on Bleacher Report Radio for Sirius XM radio and wasn’t pleased with the team’s off-season, giving them an F-minus grade for losing their front court center. According to reports, DeAndre has a rift with team captain Chris Paul, but his best friend in the league is still Blake Griffin. Doc Rivers, Blake AND CP3 are going on an all-out last pitch effort to convince Jordan to remain in Los Angeles today, before he makes the signature with Mark Cuban and the Mavericks in the coming days.
UPDATE: DeAndre Jordan has officially re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers
With the Clippers on the brink of losing DeAndre Jordan to free agency thanks to a max offer by the Dallas Mavericks, they can breathe a sigh of relief because the center will stay in Los Angeles for at least the next three years.
Jordan has now officially signed a four-year max deal worth roughly $88 million, with a player option after the third year. This puts the Mavericks in an awkward position, as one of their top free agency signing s did an about face and snubbed them in the end. Now Dallas is left scrambling trying to find a center to pair with Dirk Nowitzki.
You know Mark Cuban is going to burn the NBA to the ground after this one.
