All good things must come to an end.
After an embarrassing showing in this year’s Finals, it appears this may be last time we see “The Big 3” together. Heading into the summer full of speculation and a roster full of unrestricted free agents there is no real promise that the team will stay intact. Normally when you hear the term “a roster full of free agents” you think maybe four to five players can leave, but that’s not the case here.
Ray Allen, Chris Anderson (player option), Shane Battier, Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Toney Douglas, Udonis Haslem (player option), James Jones, Rashard Lewis, and Greg Oden are all free agents. After an unproductive Finals performance and benching for most of Game 5, will Chalmers be re-signed when they still have Norris Cole under contract? Will one of the greatest three point shooters in NBA history, ten time NBA All-Star, and two time NBA champion Ray Allen finally hang it up?
So what’s in the future for the Miami Heat?
