Penalties come and go in the modern Premier League game, and when you’ve got players such as Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in charge of the spot-kick, nearly 100% of the time we see the ball fly into the back of the net. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for Jason Puncheon over the weekend, who went into the records for all the wrong reasons.
After blasting his shot high and wide, Crystal Palace went on to lose 2-0 against a strong Tottenham side. Who knows what would have happened if Puncheon scored when it was it was all square. What we do know is his attempt is one of the worst we’ve ever seen.
