Jalen Rose Ethers Chris Webber after ESPN 30 for 30 “Fab Five” Documentary Slander

Chris Webber on the Dan Patrick Show

Before Chris Webber became a no. 1 overall selection to earn $176 million in professional play, he was a superstar in college basketball. Alongside Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson – the five Michigan Wolverine freshmen of 1991 became one of the America’s biggest stories in sports as the Fab Five.

While the team made consecutive NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship runs, the team would come up short (see: the infamous timeout technical foul). During 2002, Webber was formally chartered for perjury in court after the University of Michigan basketball scandal, which dealt with tax evasion, accepting illegal money as a high school and collegiate player. Chris Webber, who has a book out now, has recently been vocal about ESPN Films 30 for 30 Documentary, The Fab Five – which he opted not to participate in.

After a 10-year exile from the university and his four brothers, he opened up for the first time about the documentary yesterday on the Dan Patrick show, subliminally mentioning a member of the group but refused to mention the obvious star. This soon promoted Jalen Rose to respond back to the comments about how the four other players are still in contact with each other, as well as the university. C-Webb gives his brief side of the story, while Rose responds back with in the excerpts below, and Jimmy King’s reaction to his former teammate.

This prompted Jalen Rose to respond with this

Rose responded to Webber’s interview with some comments to Larry Brown Sports.

“One dude traveled then called timeout. One dude lied to grand jury and hasn’t apologized. One dude tried to circumvent the documentary to HBO. One dude ignored multiple requests from everyone involved after agreeing to participate. One dude played like (President) Obama and sat in a suite during Michigan’s recent title game. One dude slandered Ed Martin after all he did for him and his family. One dude is not in contact with the other four (which is all good). One dude has been doing a rebuttal doc for four years. One dude clearly is delusional and still in denial,” Rose said of Webber in messages to Larry Brown Sports.

“Congrats on your amazing success! Respect had no price. Man up.”

Jimmy King Joins R&R to respond to Chris Webber’s Fab Five Comments. Webber isn’t happy with the documentary, and throws the Fab Five under the bus. Jimmy King think Webber just wants to make things about himself.
