They don’t call him “Famous Jameis” for nothing. Yesterday, the NCAA announced their pre-season All-Americans for baseball and to no surprise Jameis Winston was on the list. Though more known for his work on the football field (national title and Heisman Trophy), Jameis is actually a respectable baseball player as well. As a freshmen, he played mostly in the outfield, but also made 17 appearances as a relief pitcher, notching a impressive 3.00 ERA.
Though Jameis will undoubtedly be focusing on going to the NFL when he is finished at Florida State, he has already been drafted by the Texas Rangers and a career in MLB could always be a viable option for him. The Seminoles will also have a good chance at securing Jameis his second national title at FSU, as they enter the season ranked as #6 in the country.
Will you tune into watch Jameis play baseball this spring? Could he be the next Bo Jackson? Let us know after the jump.
