Jameis Winston has breathed a sigh of relief today.
Facing felony charges for after being accused of sexually assaulting a young woman at a Florida State off-campus apartment last December, the Tallahassee state attorney has decided to not charge Jameis Winston in the case.
After investigating the case for three weeks, State Attorney Willie Meggs determined there was not enough evidence for indictment of the Heisman Trophy candidate.
Winston, a Heisman Trophy candidate, has passed for 3,490 yards and thrown 38 touchdowns during his first year as a starter for the No. 1 Florida State Seminoles. With the charges dropped, the star quarterback can now concentrate on finishing out the season and make their way to the Rose Bowl for the Jan. 6 VIZIO BCS National Championship, as well as put his name in the Heisman running.
Meggs will hold a news conference later today to formally announce his decision.
