During the early 2001 and 2002, many around the league considered Jason Kidd the best overall decision maker on the floor – which led to him making the All-NBA Offensive and Defensive First Teams. However, during the summer of 2003, when his New Jersey Nets had just lost to the San Antonio Spurs, he had a major decision to make regarding his final big pay day.
The then-30-year-old superstar revealed this week that he contemplated on partnering up with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Bruce Bowen. He soon went to open up on how he made up his mind while in Texas to commit with the Spurs but got cold feet on his flight back home.
Shortly after, Jason signed a six-year, $103 million deal to stay in the tri-state, as he watched the Spurs win two of the next four titles. Luckily, he had his chance to finally hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy in 2011, when his Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat in South Beach.
