Jason Pierre-Paul Signs 1-Year Deal With New York Giants

He might return in the next few weeks

It’s not a multi-year deal, but the New York Giants and Jason Pierre-Paul have agreed to terms on a one-year contract that will run until the end of the season and can see him back in action in Week 10 or Week 12 (the G-Men have a BYE week in Week 11).

The terms of the deal will rely heavy on incentives and how much he is able to perform on the field, after a fireworks accident on July 4th left his hand severely damaged.

The defensive end has not practiced with the team since last year and still has a tough road ahead to regain his form before the accident. The Giants didn’t use the franchise tag on him this past season, so they can still place it on him if they choose to do so, or they can let him walk as an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Of course, this all depends on how good and how much he plays for the remainder of the year.

Pierre-Paul took to Instagram to announce the news and ink his new deal with the team.

What a humbling experience this has been for me! I'd like to take the time out to thank God FIRST for giving me a second opportunity to play football. I'd also like to thank the Giants organization for believing in me to play for them again and to be alongside my brothers during the 2015 Season. Also, want to thank my Fiancé, Son, Family , Friends, Eugene Parker, Danny Martoe, Realitivity sports, Dr. Owens, Dr. Askari, Dr. Potparic, Debbie (hand therapist), Mike Alessi, Impact sports facility and staff, Coach John Blake, Pastor O'brien,Fans and everyone who was keeping me in their prayers and believed in me! God is good all the time! Have faith , patience and prayer with you always! Let's go Big Blue! #90PowerCircle #ImBack
