One of our favorite young players in the NBA and one who has already arrived in his rookie season is undoubtedly Jayson Tatum. The young Boston Celtic was shining in the playoffs last season and is keeping the momentum going this season, even with the return of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward to the squad.
Today against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he led all scorers with 24 points, two of which came at the closing seconds of the first quarter in glorious fashion.
On a transition play, Tatum got the rock at about midcourt and took it all the way to the hoop, right on Paul George. Even with a hand in his face, Jayson put it down, right in PG13’s face for the posterizing dunk.
The Celtics won the game 101-95 when it was all said and done.
Russell Westbrook had 13 points, 15 points and 8 assists in the game, while George finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
Irving had 15 points for the Celtics, while Al Horford had 19 points and 9 rebounds and Marcus Morris contributed with 21 points off the bench.
