The NBA is handing out end-of-year awards right now (Steph Curry just won league MVP and Andrew Wiggins secured Rookie of the Year) and next up to receive recognition is the Chicago Bulls‘ Jimmy Butler. The guard was the unanimous pick for Most Improved Player in 2015.
Other candidates that were in the running included the Golden State Warriors‘ Draymond Green and Utah Jazz‘s Rudy Gobert, who had break-out years for their respective teams.
The Bulls will honor Butler in Chicago at the United Center during game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he’s more concerned with winning the series and possibly the NBA Finals, than this award.
“I want to win this series, I want to win the championship, and at the end of the season, maybe that Most Improved award will mean a lot more.”
Either way, Jimmy will be getting some max offers during this off-season as he becomes a restricted free agent.
Congrats to @JimmyButler on taking home the NBA's Most Improved Player Award! He's come so far and is only getting better.
